Capacities and inventory

Capacities and inventory for Dump, Stockpile and Staged Stockpile nodes require a capacity (mass) to enable PO to find a feasible solution should the material flow be constrained by any process node production rates. Dumps and Stockpiles can use any principal field that has a Sum Aggregation type as the accumulation field of the Capacity.

When first setting up the material flow it is recommended to set the capacities to a large value to ensure the schedule is feasible. After the schedule runs successfully, adjust the capacities down to realistic levels.

Inventory reconciliation points are used to set the status (quantities and qualities) of dumps and stockpiles at the beginning of the schedule. The reconciliation point date must be on or before the schedule start date-time.

Reconciliation points can be created manually or sourced from a Data Feed In.

Manual inventory reconciliation points

From a dump or stockpile node Properties panel, click Inventory to add or inspect reconciliation points.
On the Reconciliation Points screen, click to add a new reconciliation point. Any existing points (manual or from a Data Feed In) will be shown in a list on the left from newest to oldest by measure date.

Dumps with imported dump solids do not support inventory records, the inventory is taken from the sum of dump solid volume.

Data Feed In reconciliation points

Reconciliation point entries from a Data Feed In source are appended with (Data Feed In) and are read only. Data Feed In types are available for Dumps, Stockpiles (Staged and standard) and LIFO Stockpiles.

Stockpile and Staged Stockpile Inventory

Entries in the inventory panel appear under the following headings.

Applied Inventory - the current inventory as applied to the node. This is a read-only view that shows any validation errors and will use the latest inventory checkpoint that occurs on or before the schedule start date. NOTE: LIFO Staged Stockpiles do not have an applied inventory entry as the latest inventory by measure date is deemed to be the applied inventory.
Inventory date - the date / time (measure date) of any manual inventory checkpoints.
Inventory date (Data Feed In) - the date / time (measure date) of any Data Feed In inventory checkpoints.

Manual checkpoints take precedence over Data Feed In checkpoints if they have the same measure date.

Reconciliation point fields (stockpiles and non-LIFO staged stockpiles)

Item	Description
Measured Date	The date the reconciliation point is valid from.
Estimated volume fill rate	(Optional ) The volume fill rate in units/hr from the measured date to the schedule start date. The inventory will be adjusted at this rate up to the schedule start.
Estimated mass fill rate	(Optional ) The mass fill rate in units/hr from the measured date to the schedule start date. The inventory will be adjusted at this rate up to the schedule start.
Value	The assigned reconciliation point value for each principal field. The default value is the principal field default value. Only SUM and Weight Average fields appear in reconciliation points. The values are not editable if the reconciliation point came from a Data Feed In.

Reconciliation point fields (LIFO staged stockpiles)

Item	Description
Measured Date	The date the reconciliation point is valid from.
Pile Name	The pile name.
Parcel Index	The parcel index, must be unique.
Parcel Name	The parcel name.
Mass	The parcel mass.
Volume	The parcel volume.
Density	The parcel density.
[Principal Field]	The assigned reconciliation point value for each principal field. The default value is the principal field default value. Only SUM and Weight Average fields appear in reconciliation points. The values are not editable if the reconciliation point came from a Data Feed In.
